Credit Program
As of July 15, 2009 (Asadh end,2066), RMDC has approved a total loan amount of Rs. 4,032.24 million for 79 MFIs, of which Rs. 3,313.87 million have been disbursed. Among the borrowing institutions, there are 7 microfinance development banks, 9 development banks, 24 financial intermediary NGOs and 39 cooperative societies. As of July 15, 2009, total cumulative loan recovered (principal amount) was Rs. 1,813.78 million, and total outstanding loan amount with its partner organizations (POs) stood at Rs. 1,500.09 million. So far, RMDC has been able to maintain 100% repayment rate from its partners. There is no non-performing asset (NPA) with RMDC till the date.

Institutional Development Program
RMDC has made significant contributions to the promotion and development of the sector in the country. At the outset, there were a very few well performing MFIs. Most of the microfinance banks and FINGOs did not have adequate capacities to expand outreach and provide quality services to a large number of the poor households. Realizing the need, RMDC, from the very beginning of its operation, has been giving its focus on institutional strengthening of existing MFIs as well as developing the potential institutions from scratch. Although microcredit programs began in the country nearly four decades back, no substantial efforts have been made for the promotion and development of capable and sustainable microfinance institutions in the country. Past microcredit programs, which were directly or indirectly implemented by the government, focused mainly on the quantity of disbursement. They ignored the aspect of sustainability of microfinance institutions.
