Microfinance and Disaster Management Workshop

The 2-day workshop was the 4th among the series of Microfinance and Disaster Management Workshop organized by the Banking With The Poor Network, which was conducted in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Peoples Republic of China and recently in the Philippines. This workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge of microfinance practitioners on the basic ideas behind disaster managment by focusing on each of the following topics of interest:
- MFI Preparedness
- Client Preparedness
- Rapid Response
- Microfinance in Livelihood Restoration
The workshop was well attended by 37 participants mostly from Microfinance Institutions in the Philippines together with participants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Other than the microfinance practitioners, delegates from funding agencies had also participated on the 2-day workshop.
