BWTP New Governing body elected January 2004

The Banking with the Poor Network (www.bwtp.org) has held recent elections in which 60% of the members voted to elect a new Executive Committee. The Executive Committee is the governing body of the BWTP Network and has the authority to manage the affairs of the BWTP Network.

The new Executive Committee members are:

  1. Mr. Chandula Abeywickrema, Deputy General Manager - Personal Banking, Hatton National Bank, Sri Lanka

  2. Mr. Ruben C. de Lara, Executive Director, TSPI Development Corporation, Philippines

  3. Mr. Aloysius P. Fernandez, Executive Director, MYRADA, India

  4. Mr. Bambang Ismawan, Chairman, Bina Swadaya, Indonesia

  5. Mr. Alberto Reyes, Deputy Governor, Bangko Sentral ng Filipinas (Central Bank of the Philippines), Philippines

  6. Mr. D. Wijesundera, General Manager, SANASA Development Bank, Sri Lanka

  7. Ms. Nani Zulminarni, Chair person, PPSW (Center for Women's Resources Development), Indonesia

In addition, Ms Beris Gwynne, Executive Director of the Foundation for Development Cooperation has been nominated by the BWTP Secretariat to the BWTP Executive Committee.
