MEMBER OVERVIEW

Background
Lanka Financial Services for Underserved Settlements is a non-profit company set up in Sri Lanka to provide financial aids for underserved settlements in Sri Lanka advised and supported by SUF of UN-Habitat together with the Sri Lankan Government through an MOU between the United Nations Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and the Ministry of Urban Development and Sacred Areas Development.
LFSUS is registered under section 21 of the Company's Act, in order to uplift the living standards of slum dwellers through the development of bankable projects that pormote affordable housing for low-income households. This will also include identifying probable projects, evaluating the necessary preliminary legal documents and tenure rights, implementing community based projects, assisting the provisions of urban infrastucture in settlements, and providing direct technical assistance where necessary.

CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES

 

PRODUCTS / SERVICES

LFSUS provides full, partial or other forms of guarantees to banks and other funding sources: to secure lending to low income earners/housing societies formed by such groups for the purpose of housing and to secure lending to MFIs, community based organizations or such similar institutions for the purpose of housing finance for low income groups, facilitateslow-income earners to access finance directly/directly from banking sources, facilitates intermediaries such as MFIs, community based organizations of similar such entities to access funding for housing finance from banks/market based sources and assists in the exchange and sharing of information and experience in financing slum upgrading and settlement development in co-operation with a wider advisory network practitioners and policy makers.
