MEMBER OVERVIEW

A small group of development practitioners and policy makers established a non-governmental organization (NGO) based on their shared vision of "self-help development". Their goal was to work with the poor rural masses to begin a process of self-help development by changing the dependency mind-set of the community people.

This shared vision of helping people to help themselves gave birth to "Centre for Self-help Development (CSD)" - a non-governmental organization (NGO) in August 1991. Since then, CSD has been effortful to raise awareness of the rural poor so as to help them to initiate their own institution building and carry out various programs generating both financial and social capital.

Mission: To promote awareness and develop consciousness for the "new paradigm" of self-help development
