Fourm Overview

The Banking with the Poor (BWTP) network in collaboration with the Foundation for Development Cooperation (FDC), actively promotes the development of microfinance in Asia through programs of research, advocacy, policy dialogue, “information sharing and capacity building. Drawing on this work, and the experience of its member organisations, the BWTP 2008 Asia Microfinance Forum will focus on “partnerships and microfinance’.  That means:

1. Strategic alliances to help expand the reach and delivery of core products and services
   
   
2. Linkages to broaden the range of financial services and products available to the developing country poor
   
   
3. Developmental partnerships to reduce poverty through delivery of non-financial services to microfinance clients
