This microfinance country profile results from the work undertaken by the Banking with the Poor Network (BWTP) Secretariat, under the leadership of Pascal Marino, BWTP Program Coordinator and Microenterprise Development Program Manager at the Foundation for Development Cooperation (FDC).
The Asia Resource Center for Microfinance, for the Mekong region (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Vietnam), is an initiative funded by the Japan Foundation and FDC.
This profile is also the result of a close and productive collaboration between the BWTP Network and its in-country partners, CARE International in Cambodia and CARE International in Vietnam, with support from CARE Australia. The two CARE country offices have made a substantial contribution to the activities undertaken in Cambodia and Nepal, especially in regard to the organisation of individual consultations and the stakeholders’ workshop in Phnom Penh, which are the real building blocks of this profile. The author would also like to thank all the participants to activities conducted in Cambodia and Vietnam, and participants from Lao PDR for the contribution they have made to the Asia Resource Center for Microfinance through their papers, presentations and enlightening thoughts. It has been a crucial factor for the relevance of this document and the future development of the Asia Resource Center for Microfinance |
