BWTP Activities

The Network is undertaking the following programs and activities:   

• BWTP Network Executive Committee Meeting on 19-20 November 2009 in Colombo, Sri Lanka
• Banking With The Poor Network's Participation on the 11th Global Network Summit on 2-6 November 2009 in Arlington, Virginia, U.S.A.
  BWTP representative attends the 11th Global Network Summit to present on issues regarding international network indicators project and implementation of membership strategies.
• Microfinance Country Briefs
  In an effort to promote industries in more countries, BWTP Network wishes to publish a series of ‘country briefs’ covering emerging or smaller industries in the region particularly in the following countries: Thailand, Cambodia, Burma, Lao, East Timor and Malaysia.
• Linkages and Partnership Approach in Microfinance
  Partnerships and alliances between formal and less formal institutions are an alternative way of expanding financial services into rural areas.
• Best Practices Dissemination
  Across Asia there is a strong common need to build the capacity of microfinance providers to enable them to manage efficiently their traditional business of financial service provision.
• Dissemination of Disaster Management Curriculum
  The BWTP Networks previous work in the field of microfinance and capacity building in post-tsunami reconstruction has produced a package of high quality, multi-language training manuals and resources on “Microfinance and Disaster Management”.
• Asia Microfinance Forum 2008
